After wetting herself during the first three diaper changes of the day, Hannah chose to do something nice for mama. Hannah's been an early roller--rolling from tummy to back at 5 weeks! She did it again at 7 weeks, and has now rolled over a couple of times this week. I really wanted to capture this moment on video, but I thought I might have to sit with the camera on her several times for minutes at a time to have success. Nope, one try and a few seconds later, strong Hannah flops over! Take a look!
Hannah loves the play gym where she does her tummy time. She swats at the octupus that rattles and smiles and coos with excitement. I took a video of this too but you'd have to cock your head sideways to watch. I'll put the camera the right way next time. (I'm sure there's a way to rotate the video, but I'm new at this.) I'll leave you with some pictures instead.
Hannah is 2 months old today! My goal is to take a quick video and some pictures on our couch each month. I'm hoping to capture some of her new tricks and her physical changes. This month, the pictures didn't capture her at her most photogenic moment. She probably hates being snowed/iced in for the third straight day! The video shows some smiling, talking, and her name song. I made a name song for my baby sister Lisa and that helped her quickly learn her name on her own. It thrilled me at 8 or 9 years old to know I had taught her something so important. We both still remember the song today. Daniel helped come up with the Mickey Mouse Club tune to fit Hannah's name and I ran with the rest. Here's to hoping she can spell her name soon-ish!

I couldn't help but put up this video. It's another one month old video, but about half way through she bumps her head and makes the funniest face. Please don't judge me for laughing at this. :-)
And finally some photos of yesterday's adventure to find a local establishment that was actually open. We had to get out of the house and are thankful to live close to retail and restaurants! We ended up at Arby's...the only place open, operated by 2 people. Hannah was bundled up and stayed warm and asleep. Today was the third day of being iced in. We tried to walk somewhere, but the sidewalks were too icy to venture out. We literally were iced in today. Tomorrow's not looking much better. We're taking advantage of the lazy days and Daniel working from home.
In my 6 years as an Atlanta resident, I've never seen this much snow! We measured over 5 inches in our back yard. We watched it fall last night and couldn't wait to snap a few shots of Hannah in her first snow fall. The entire city shut down. The most eerie thing is the sound of silence outside. No traffic. By the time we went out, the snow was covered with a crunchy layer of sleet.
I'm really not a bad mama! She didn't even sink in the snow the layer of sleet on top was so thick.
No, we didn't leave her out to play. She was fast asleep.
My dear friend Leticia got Hannah this sweet little outfit and matching sleeping bag in her home country, Brazil. It's a unique outside with the cutest little tail. The funniest thing...when I put Hannah in it, she started speaking Portuguese!
I'm really thankful with the timing of Hannah's birth and the holidays. Families naturally gather at the holidays and it was the perfect time to make sure most of Hannah's family got to meet her. And it provided me with some relief from what can be a monotonous 3 hour cycle. Here are some pictures from Christmas with the Rodda's and Richmond's. I'm disappointed I didn't get any pictures of Hannah meeting some of my dearest friends-Jana, Tiffany, Sarah P., and Jessica and their families. I was too preoccupied with good conversation to whip out the camera!

Daniel and I each got her a special gift for Christmas. He got her a Bama dress. I got her something I've been wanting to get her for awhile. Daniel and I want her to be a confident little lady, knowing that God promises her she is beautiful (Ecclesiastes 3:11), wonderful (Psalm 139:14), and loved (Jeremiah 31:3).
